PROP 50 RESULTS & Nationwide Election Night Results

Tonight marks one of the most consequential election nights in recent memory.

In the 2022 election, Republican Lee Zeldin nearly shocked the nation by winning 44% of the vote in New York’s gubernatorial race—a state long dominated by Democrats. 

His performance was the strongest by a Republican in decades and revealed growing voter frustration with crime, taxes, and progressive policies. 

Zeldin’s campaign gained traction in suburban and even urban areas once thought untouchable for the GOP. 

The close result proved that Democrats are steadily losing support in their traditional strongholds, as voters across the state—especially in New York City’s outer boroughs—demanded safety, accountability, and real solutions over political slogans.

The shift signals growing discontent with high taxes, rising crime, and declining public services under Democrat governance.

In Virginia, three statewide races are too close to call—Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General. 

The outcome will serve as a bellwether for the national political mood. 

Republicans are seeking to retain control and solidify recent gains made during Governor Glenn Youngkin’s tenure, while Democrats hope to reclaim influence by tying their opponents to national controversies.
