New Order From AG Bondi and New Filing From DOJ Defend Appointment of Halligan to EDVA

Both James Comey and Letitia James have filed motions to dismiss, arguing that Lindsey Halligan's appointment is unlawful. If successful, these motions could result in the cases against Comey and James being dismissed.

However, Attorney General Pam Bondi has issued a new order defending the appointment, designating Halligan as a "Special Attorney" with explicit authority to prosecute both Comey and James. The order endorses the prosecutions and the underlying grand jury proceedings.

Additionally, the Department of Justice has joined prosecutors in both cases to file a response opposing the motions to dismiss. The filing is well-written and highly persuasive.
