White House Blames Democrats for Longest Government Shutdown in U.S. History

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt sharply criticized Democrats as the government shutdown reached its 35th day, calling it “the longest in U.S. history.”

Leavitt said the shutdown is severely affecting American families, workers, and businesses, accusing Democrats of keeping it going “to fight for free healthcare for illegal immigrants and to appease their radical left-wing base.”

According to the press secretary, Americans faced major travel disruptions over the weekend due to staffing shortages at airports. More than 5,000 flights were delayed on Sunday alone, and TSA wait times reached up to five hours at some airports.

Leavitt also warned that more than 13,000 air traffic controllers continue to work without pay and will miss their second paycheck if Democrats keep blocking efforts to reopen the government.
