White House Blames Democrats for Delay in SNAP Payments

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained that recipients of the SNAP program will face delays in receiving their payments due to the Democrat-driven government shutdown.

Leavitt stated that the administration has been forced to draw from a contingency fund reserved for emergencies, disasters, or war — a measure President Trump would prefer to avoid in the future. “The Democrats have forced the administration into a very difficult position,” she said.

The Department of Agriculture has already issued instructions to the states on how to distribute the funds in accordance with the latest court order, although the process will take some time.

“The best way for beneficiaries to receive the full amount of their SNAP benefits is for Democrats to reopen the government,” Leavitt emphasized. She also urged citizens who depend on the program to “call the Democrats and tell them to reopen the government.”
