Will the US ambush Venezuela or has that plan suddenly soured?

The US has been having troubles with just about everything it does these days. So, it is no surprise that oil would be a major concern for the US. Enter low hanging fruit. Or is it? The US does great at bombing from 50 thousand feet but not so good at the groundwork. Typically, the last of our servicemen in any given battle are clutching at the copter skids on the way out. The Russians are fearlessly entering the waters around Venezuela as we speak. I think the US will blink first. It's a poor way to find out which tiger has more paper.
