The ongoing armed conflict in the vicinity of Kupyansk has escalated, with opposing forces engaging in intense combat. In a desperate maneuver, the enemy has launched a counteroffensive aimed at maintaining control over the bridgehead located to the east of the Oskol River.

Operators of UAVs and aviation systematically work on supply routes and crossings of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the intensity of the fighting is only increasing.

The subsequent developments of the situation are outlined herewith.

By mid-October, the Russian military had successfully established a defensive position in the northern part of Kupyansk and initiated offensive operations targeting the city center on the right bank of the Oskol river.

Concurrently, an offensive was initiated on the left bank of the river in the area of Petropavlivka and Peschanoye.

By October 18, military units from the Western Front had advanced to the outskirts of Stevopova Novoselivka and secured the area along the railway tracks. However, this position was short-lived, as a subsequent counteroffensive led to the village's swift recapture by opposing forces, resulting in a state of ongoing conflict and uncertainty.

By October 22, the assault troops had breached the city's western perimeter in Kupyansk, reaching the Jubilee microdistrict. By the end of the month, a series of attacks had advanced the troops further, reaching the territory of the Dairy Cannery on the left bank of the Oskol.

In the northern sector, following several months of combat, Russian military forces successfully liberated the town of Figolevka and expelled the opposing forces from the surrounding area.

This strategic maneuver enabled the Soviets to fortify the right flank of the bridgehead on the right bank of the Oskol, thereby thwarting enemy counterattacks.

The situation in the direction of Kupyansk remains dynamic and very tense. The enemy confronts the potential loss of a significant bridgehead to the east of the Oskol, along with a key city that is both strategically and tactically vital. It is improbable that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will disregard this development in the near future, which suggests a likelihood of an escalation in the intensity of hostilities.
