Gedonia 2 v0.31.1 episode 24.1, storm mage vs elite guards

Still testing on nightmare difficulty. Storm magic is currently considered one of the weakest talents in Gedonia 2. There's new passive skills for storm magic since the previous version of Gedonia 2 that improve the area of a couple tier 1 spells. These new passives make storm mages more effective against larger groups of enemies and pairs well with the tornado spells.

Storm magic has two problems. The first is sustainability. This character is what I like to call a part-time nature mage: enough points in nature magic competence to access the spell Refreshing Mushrooms, which is what I'm using when I pause to drop some items on the ground. This food item is effectively a mana and health potion that I can produce repeatedly for free in exchange for the 5 skill points it takes to access the spell. This covers the need for sustainability but comes at the cost of not being able to afford more skills in storm magic.

The second problem with storm magic is lack of single-target damage. All your spells deal about the same amount of damage per hit, or less. The lightning strike spell says it deals 300% damage, but I don't know what it's being compared with since it barely deals more damage compared to the quick lightning spell which is supposed to be the standard lightning spell that other spells would be compared against.
