Arrest of Brahim Kaddour Cherif!

An urgent investigation was launched after 24-year-old Brahim Kaddour Cherif, an Algerian national, was mistakenly released from HMP Wandsworth.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Cherif — also known as Ibrahim — was released in error and a major search operation was immediately initiated. He is a registered sex offender, convicted in November 2024 for indecent exposure relating to an incident earlier that year.
Cherif was known to have links to Tower Hamlets and Westminster. Authorities confirmed that after several hours of intensive searches and coordination, he has now been arrested.
This incident has once again raised serious questions about security procedures at UK prisons, particularly HMP Wandsworth, which has faced scrutiny following several high-profile cases of mistaken or unauthorized releases.
