GENOCIDAL AL-FASHIR BUTCHER RELEASED

As the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces seized Al-Fashir, footage flooded social media of the militia’s atrocities as it looked to complete its genocidal project to wipe out the indigenous non-Arab population from the Darfur region of western Sudan.

A recurring face in the gruesome videos was an RSF commander known as ‘Abu Lulu’, who revelled in being filmed carrying out executions where he taunted his victims and let them know they were being killed on ethnic grounds.

As such, Abu Lulu became the face of the RSF genocide in Al-Fashir, especially after boasting that he killed over 2,000 non-Arabs. His mention was even used by Emiratis to mock Sudanese people, and he was encouraged to keep killing by a UK-based RSF influencer known for inciting the militia’s ethnic targeting.

Nonetheless, the PR-savvy RSF sought to distance itself from the Butcher of Al-Fashir by staging a questionable mock arrest. Observers noted that it was likely that the RSF were more dismayed at Abu Lulu’s documentation of the militia’s atrocities, rather than the acts themselves. However, Abu Lulu revealed that he was “released” shortly thereafter. After sitting in the naughty corner for 15 minutes, the genocidal butcher of Al-Fashir is now free to continue his killing spree.
