FORGOTTEN GRAVEYARD: Chickasha, OK

We're staying close to home in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to uncover a truly forgotten piece of local history. We stumbled upon an empty field at SW 29th Street and Grand Avenue that is secretly a buried graveyard!

We followed a tip and found several eroded gravestones hidden in the tall grass. This site is believed to be the long-neglected Fairview Park Cemetery, which served as a burial ground, including a Roman Catholic section, in the early 1900s. Tragically, many graves here were reportedly moved to Rose Hill Cemetery, or simply plowed over and forgotten.
