This is the final installment of a two-part, story driven experience where players take on the role of detective Juli Kidman, Sebastian Castellanos’ mysterious partner, in a concurrent story that looks to answer some of the questions surrounding her whereabouts during The Evil Within. Along the way she will encounter disturbing new enemies, discover new mysteries, and uncover new horrors. The Consequence give fans of The Evil Within the perfect opportunity to continue discovering detective Kidman’s hidden motivations and her mysterious connection to Mobius, the shadowy group thought to be behind the gruesome events of The Evil Within.

Chapter 3 - Illusions:

Kidman awakens alone in a sterile hospital room, her only comfort a cat and the faint echo of a music box. Exploring the empty halls of Beacon, she encounters unsettling visions, hidden messages, and familiar voices from her past, realizing that the environment itself bends to her perception. Following cryptic symbols revealed by her flashlight, she’s pulled deeper into the shifting facility, uncovering remnants of Mobius experiments and fragmented memories of her recruitment. The power fails, plunging her into darkness as she navigates through the twisted corridors with only chemical lights to guide her. Each illusion grows more disturbing, blurring the line between her guilt, Ruvik’s influence, and the Mobius control she can no longer escape.

Her journey leads her from the depths of the hospital into the crumbling ruins of Krimson City, where she pieces together her fractured identity while evading grotesque Haunted and phantoms of light. Inside an abandoned police station and a ruined hotel, she relives memories of her choices and the people she betrayed for Mobius. The nightmare culminates in a brutal confrontation with The Shade, a manifestation of her fear and regret that hunts her through a burning rooftop. Using cover and precision, she defeats the creature, only for it to revive one final time, forcing her into a desperate escape through collapsing debris and grasping shadows. Exhausted and haunted by what she’s seen, Kidman barely escapes aboard a bus, uncertain if she’s any closer to freedom—or merely deeper inside Ruvik’s nightmare.
