The Montreal Screwjob is the most controversial incident in the history of professional wrestling, and one the most controversial in the history of sports in general. In this video essay, I will discuss the events leading up to that infamous night of November 9, 1997, as well as the incident itself and its aftermath. I will present my evidence for my thesis that after close examination, Bret Hart is mostly responsible for what happened at the 1997 Survivor Series.
