At least coffee #87, or Who is actually in government here?
The voters of the outgoing government are unable to come to terms with this fact. They are still trying to find reasons why the result is bad even for the voters of the winners. And the outgoing government is behaving in exactly the same way. They are putting forward bizarre theories and ideas, which only serve to highlight their own limitations. In doing so, they completely overlook any context and even applicable laws. I will give just a few examples of how outgoing politicians and their voters present themselves.
For example, Markéta, known as MPA, writes that ten million voters are waiting to see how Babiš will resolve his conflict of interest. Of course, most citizens, who are obviously not ten million voters, do not care what Babiš does or does not do with his ownership of Agrofert. So Babiš has no reason whatsoever to take a stance on anything at a time when the government is still being negotiated. Besides, according to the law, his obligation to resolve this issue arises only after the government is appointed, and he has 30 days to do so. So this is typical whining from a hurt little dog. And TOP 09 marketers are presenting this whining as a challenge that we are not a banana republic.
The government has approved a pay rise for teachers. And immediately there were comments that Babiš wants to throw money around. But this increase is not the result of the work of Babiš's government. At the time of approval, it has not yet been appointed. So Babiš's "currently backward" opponents don't even know what's going on around them.
The plans of the government being formed are not the same as the pre-election promises of all three coalition parties. This is logical, because none of them has a majority in parliament, so they have to make concessions on their election programs. But the anti-Babiš camp does not take this into account. They immediately label the voters of the three coalition parties as stupid sheep who have been duped.
The parliament, or rather its lower house, is currently being formed. The winning coalition has agreed that SPD leader Tomio Okamura will be the speaker. Immediately, cries of outrage have been heard that he is not a suitable candidate and that a "heavyweight" is being put up against him. Jan Bartošek of the People's Party is supposedly much better. And he is campaigning by going around to coalition MPs who supposedly have a problem with Okamura taking the chair. Pospíšil is also getting involved, shouting that Babiš must explain to his voters why Okamura. Pospíšil's wet dream has no basis, because every reasonable coalition voter knows that this is simply how it works and must be taken into account. After all, if the coalition did not agree, it would fall apart and a crisis situation would ensue. There would be no one capable of forming any reasonable government.
After a day of yelling from the outgoing government and its MPs, the election finally took place, confirming the assumption that the more they yell and swear, the more likely the winning coalition is to confirm its candidate. And I assume there are many more reasons. Firstly, the need to elect their candidate, whoever that may be. Then there was the fact that anyone would be better than the loud and hostile Bartošek proposed by the People's Party. And finally, I believe that the accusations against Okamura by his opponents and the slimy solicitation of votes against him had a major influence.
Even the day after the election, X is flooded with hatred and bile from the defeated. On the one hand, the opposition has not yet gained a vice-chairman, because Skopeček may have been seeking revenge for the election four years ago, when Vondráček was not elected for ANO, and also because the government has not yet submitted a draft budget to the new chamber. A complete draft. And also revenge from the Pirates, because Skopeček did not receive votes from all opposition MPs.
Fiala's government is still in power, but I hope it won't be long before it leaves Strakova akademie, as well as the leadership of the Chamber of Deputies.
And then that coffee will taste much better.
