Celebrating Everything Except the Real Reason?

Do you ever feel like the joy of Christmas gets buried under stress, bills, and busyness? I know I’ve been there. Every year, I tell myself that this one will be different—that I’ll slow down and focus on what truly matters—yet somehow, the season still manages to leave me drained. I’ve learned that I’m not alone. Surveys show that more than half of Americans no longer see Christmas as a religious holiday. And when faith takes a backseat to finances, peace and gratitude often fade away. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

In this episode of The Financially Confident Christian, I share how I’m learning to prepare my heart for Christmas with purpose and peace. I tell a story about my family’s wooden Advent box and how that simple tradition has helped bring Christ back to the center of our celebrations. I also talk about practical ways I’ve found to simplify my calendar, spend more intentionally, and practice relational giving.

Through Luke 2:10 and Matthew 6:21, I remind myself, and you, that where our treasure is, our heart will be also. And the greatest treasure we can ever find is in Jesus.
