Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - New Environments And Gameplay In The New ‘Survive’ Trailer

It’s been a very long road for Metroid Prime 4, a game that was first announced back in 2017, only months after the Switch launched. Now as we get closer to release, Nintendo is finally starting to lift the lid…a little. We got our second trailer in three months, this one called Survive. It shows off some stunning environments, some new enemies, some old enemies like Sylux that we knew about, some combat, and some more shots of Samus on her shiny new motorcycle.

A report released claiming that Metroid Prime 4 is Nintendo’s most expensive game they’ve ever made. If true, it’s not surprising given how long the game was in development. There are rumors that Retro Studios is already at work on Metroid Prime 5 as well. If true, it will likely be a shorter development cycle since the engine and technology is already in place.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond releases for Nintendo Switch/Switch 2 on December 4, 2025.
