Why Am I Dreading December Already?

Why does December so often bring more dread than delight for so many of us? I’ve asked myself that question more than once. In last week’s episode, “Why Does Gratitude Feel So Hard Now?”, I talked about how gratitude isn’t just a feeling, it’s a daily decision that can reset our mindset when we’re weary. Building on that message, this week I’m exploring a new question many of us face as the holidays approach: how can we prepare our hearts before December overwhelms us?

In Episode 330, “Why Am I Dreading December Already?”, I challenge the idea that peace just “happens.” I’ve learned that peace is an intentional choice—one we can make even when life feels hectic and unpredictable. While we may not be able to control the pace of the season, we can prepare our hearts to walk through it with calm, confidence, and faith.
