✨ The Feast of Dedication, also known by its Hebrew name Hanukkah, celebrates the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem after its desecration under Antiochus Epiphanes. This eight-day festival of light commemorates the miracle when a small amount of oil, enough for one day, burned for eight — a sign that God’s presence and faithfulness never run out.

Though not listed among the seven feasts in Leviticus 23, Hanukkah powerfully points to God’s covenant promise of renewal. The people of Israel lit their lamps and rededicated the altar; we too are called to rededicate our hearts as living temples where His Spirit dwells.

Centuries later, Jesus Himself stood in the Temple during the Feast of Dedication (John 10:22-23). In that moment, the miracle of light found its fulfillment — the true Light had come. Christ declared, “I am the Light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12).

Prophetically, Hanukkah points forward to the indwelling light of Christ in His people, the rededication of our hearts, and the eternal glory of the New Jerusalem where “the Lord God will be their light” (Revelation 21:23).
