Midknight_Expression Ep16

Hello my Knight's and Knightie's welcome to the 16th episode of Midknight Expressions.
This week's video release is the A-Cappella version for Joanne Sunshine. This folky song is the second release from my first album, Somber Moon. Its vocal sweetness is soothing and a worthwhile listen.
I have completed recording the A-cappella and Bio of Fire Dancers. A complex song that is changeling both vocally and musically. It will be the third release form, The Madman.
I have also completed a video for the A-Cappella version of, The Last word a third release from, Anger Management. I have also started on the video for the acoustic version. More on these next week and when the videos are ready to be released.
My review this week is a bit of a guilty pleasure. It is a book by the writing couple Ilona Andrew. The book is, Clean Sweep
Ilona Andrews is the pen name of Ilona Gordon and Andrew Gordon, an American husband-and-wife duo writing urban fantasy, science fiction, and paranormal fiction. Their debut novel was Magic Bites, the first in the Kate Daniels series. They have since published over 40 novels and novellas.

Kate Daniels, The Edge, The Kinsmen Universe and more. My absolute favorite is The Innkeeper Chronicles.
The series follows Dina Demille, a young woman who presides over a bed and breakfast named Gertrude Hunt in the quiet town of Red Deer, Texas. Gertrude Hunt is secretly an intergalactic waypoint that offers refuge and lodging for extraterrestrial visitors in their travels to Earth. Through the series Dina must balance the health of her business, the safety of her guests, and continue to conceal the truth of the greater galaxy from other humans. I enjoy different types of books. Many are heavy to read or listen to. Some are just a joy, both are a pleasure. Expanding my understanding of experience and imagination.
Clean Sweep is one of my guilty pleasures because it is a romance book. You know girl meets boy, boy meets girl and their world is turned upside down.
In this case the girl is a woman named Dina Demille. Who runs a magical interdimensional Bed and Breakfast named Gertrude hunt. Dina is an Innkeeper. A powerful mystic class of individuals in on a big secret that we are not alone in the galaxy. Their purpose is to attend to alien guests from all across the cosmos and other dimensions.
Dina finds something wrong in her quiet neighbourhood with the death of a few dogs. She identifies a man named Sean Evans as a werewolf. Not the horror movie kind, but an alien race. She encourages Sean to, “do something about it.”
They both are thrown into a conspiracy involving vampires. Once again an alien species and not the horror monster type.
This is a fun book with strong and interesting characters. My favorite is Caledonia, Dina's only permanent guest. I am also a fan of Gertrude Hunt. The concept of a semi intelligent mystical structure that bonds to the Innkeeper is just freaking cool. I would love to be a guest or even live there.
Of course there is the bantering between two dominant personalities that are attracted to each other. Of course they would not admit it to anyone else. Ah, romance, gotta love human courtship.
This is a good book for ages 16 and above. It is funny and well written. Out of all their series, The Innkeeper Chronicles, is my absolute favorite to revisit. I fully recommend the audio book read by Renee Rodnem. Her reading is eloquent, passionate, a joy to listen to.
I will more than likely do other reviews of the other books in this series. Mainly because I adore them. Each one shows growth of the charters and is adventurous.
