🚨 HUGE PROP 50 UPDATE 🚨

After Prop 50 passed amid low turnout, the Dhillon Law Group filed a federal lawsuit challenging California’s new congressional maps arguing they were drawn using race-based criteria favoring Latino voters, violating the 14th and 15th Amendments.

This case could be historic.

A 3-judge federal panel now has the power to issue a stay blocking the maps and if that happens, California can’t overturn it without the U.S. Supreme Court.

At the same time, the Supreme Court’s pending case Louisiana v. Callais could reshape Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, deciding once and for all how far states can go in using race to draw political lines.
