I just watched the video by PippaTiled titled “Twitch fires guy who banned vtubers” and I want to break down what’s really going on with Tarfu, Twitch’s anti-fraud department, and the creators who say they got banned unfairly.
On one hand: I support creators who claim they were banned without clear evidence—no one should lose their channel, their audience, their livelihood without transparency.
On the other hand: I’m critical of Tarfu’s post-firing message that essentially bragged about his own importance, saying his system worked too well, and thus they didn’t need him anymore.

Many VTubers claim they were banned for “fraud” or “view-botting” under the system Tarfu built—but say they had no clear evidence provided.
A good moderation system must include appeals, evidence, and fairness. If creators feel the system is rigged, trust erodes.
He claims he built “the entire fraud program” at Twitch and says he got fired because his system worked “too well”. That raises questions: did the system over-catch? Did it mislabel legitimate creators?
Bragging after being fired doesn’t help victims who lost channels or revenue under his watch.
While individuals like Tarfu may build programmes, the platform (Twitch/Amazon) bears ultimate responsibility for fairness and outcomes.
Blaming bad actors or excessive cuts without addressing systemic failures ignores the creators’ losses.
Losing a channel means losing community, brand, income. That’s real.
When the reason is opaque—“you committed fraud” but no proof shown—that’s a dangerous precedent for creators everywhere.
Twitch must publish clearer guidelines on fraud detection, provide evidence to banned creators, and allow more robust appeals.
Anti-fraud systems are necessary—but they must not foster a “ban first, ask questions later” culture.
