3I/ATLAS: New Image Shows DRAMATIC Changes
3I/ATLAS: New Image Shows DRAMATIC Changes | Science for Sleep
3I/ATLAS has finally returned from behind the sun, and the latest images reveal something scientists can't explain. After its perihelion passage on October 29, 2025, the interstellar comet exhibited rapid brightening that defied all predictions, turning distinctly blue near the sun. Astronomer Qicheng Zhang captured the first post-perihelion images using both professional and amateur telescopes, proving 3I/ATLAS is now visible to backyard observers worldwide. But NASA still hasn't released the crucial HiRISE images from Mars, leading to Congressional demands for transparency. With non-gravitational acceleration detected and December 19th marking its closest Earth approach, this is our final chance to study 3I/ATLAS before it leaves our solar system forever.
