Babylon - The Money System (The Horizontal Economy vs. Vertical Control)

You go to work, and your boss tells you to do something you know is wrong, maybe even illegal. Your boss has vertical authority over you. If you don't do what your boss tells you, you'll be fired. You really need the job to feed your family. Whether you recognize it or not, your boss has authority through this vertical system over your family and everything you care about.

You go to your co-worker, where neither of you has authority over the other. Your relationship is a horizontal one. You have a job to do, and you "cooperate" to get it done. You tell them what the boss wants you to (which involves your co-worker's "cooperation)." What do you do?

In this podcast, we examine how the Babylonian money system establishes vertical control over horizontal exchanges, allowing it to "steal and kill and destroy" what God intended in Eden and will restore in the New Kingdom.
