NYPD Sergeant Injured and Suspect in Custody After Confrontation in the Bronx W/TheFactsDude

On October 9, 2025, around 10:20 p.m., officers responded to a domestic robbery call on Van Nest Avenue in the Bronx and tracked the 18-year-old suspect to an apartment building on East Gun Hill Road in Williamsbridge.During the attempt to detain the suspect, a violent struggle erupted when the suspect fled and fired shots from inside the building. The managing sergeant fell backward and sustained a head injury, while another officer fired at the suspect, hitting him in the lower back and right arm.The suspect remains hospitalized in critical condition. Police say the armed teen has a “significant violent criminal history,” and a loaded gun, shell casings, and ballistic damage were recovered at the scene.
