The Great Rupert, 1950

Fading song-and-dance artist Joe Mahoney must split ways with his remarkable, essential, kilt-wearing buddy Rupert, the squirrel, as Christmas Eve approaches. Meanwhile, Louie Amendola, another failing vaudevillian, and his family move into the chilly apartment of frugal landlord Frank Dingle, not realizing that an unanticipated Christmas miracle is about to occur. But when the god-sent gift gives the unemployed Amendolas a taste of the good life, the cops begin to suspect foul play. Does their newfound contentment have anything to do with Rupert's cunning?
