Luke 14:16-24, the parable of the great feast. *You’re* invited!

Years ago when I started my work in the inner city, I was studying this scripture and it started burning on my heart. I knew that God was talking to me about something important.
The fact that there is a feast, a banquet table set for humanity is astounding. The perfect, uncreated God of the universe desires to have us near to Him. Outrageous when you think about it, but true nevertheless. Right now, there is an entire world out there who doesn’t realize, maybe hasn’t heard, or unfortunately, just doesn’t care that they have a place of honor with the Holy God of all creation.
I want to be like the servant that He sends to the highways and the byways to let people everywhere know the tremendous lengths He has gone to bring us to His table. All it takes is a yes.
Sadly, I understand not everyone will, but at least I will have done my part and they will have been informed. That’s what I’m determined to do.
