El documental muestra la creciente influencia de los grupos evangélicos más conservadores en la política brasileña. Parte del material del documental lo obtiene de uno de los impulsores de Jair Bolsonaro a la presidencia, el Tele-Evangelista y Predicador: "Silas Malafaia".
Los discursos de estos Tele-Evangelistas, Predicadores y Legisladores están cargados de Manipulación Psicológica, Fake News y Violencia Verbal etiquetando a quienes piensan distintos de: "Escoria".
Petra Costa plantea preguntas inquietantes sobre los límites de la democracia y cómo, bajo ciertas condiciones, puede empezar a transformarse en una teocracia. En 1970, los evangélicos representaban aproximadamente el 5,2% de la población brasileña. Para el censo de 2022, la cifra había aumentado al 26,9% (casi el 27%) de la población total.
Las elecciones llevadas a cabo en 2022 ganó el candidato opositor: "Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva" por poco margen en segunda vuelta, obteniendo el 50.9% de los votos frente al 49.1% y, la ola de violencia desatada durante y luego de las elecciones. La violencia alcanzó su punto máximo con el asalto a los tres poderes del Estado (el Congreso, el Tribunal Supremo y el Palacio Presidencial) en Brasilia el 8 de enero de 2023, por parte de seguidores de Bolsonaro que se negaban a aceptar el resultado electoral.
Un documental que deja mucho para reflexionar sobre el fanatismo(En éste caso religioso), si tal fanatismo llevado al extremo rompe la convivencia democrática.

The documentary shows the growing influence of the most conservative evangelical groups in Brazilian politics. Some of the documentary's material comes from one of Jair Bolsonaro's presidential supporters, the televangelist and preacher Silas Malafaia.
The speeches of these televangelists, preachers, and legislators are laden with psychological manipulation, fake news, and verbal violence, labeling those who think differently as "scum."
Petra Costa raises unsettling questions about the limits of democracy and how, under certain conditions, it can begin to transform into a theocracy. In 1970, evangelicals represented approximately 5.2% of the Brazilian population. By the 2022 census, that figure had risen to 26.9% (almost 27%) of the total population.
The 2022 elections were won by the opposition candidate, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, by a narrow margin in the second round, obtaining 50.9% of the vote compared to 49.1%. A wave of violence erupted during and after the elections, reaching its peak with the assault on the three branches of government (Congress, the Supreme Court, and the Presidential Palace) in Brasília on January 8, 2023, by Bolsonaro supporters who refused to accept the election results.
Um documentário que nos leva a refletir bastante sobre o fanatismo (neste caso, religioso) e se o fanatismo levado ao extremo compromete a coexistência democrática.
