Why does a day begin in darkness?
Because at the beginning of creation, there wasn’t yet the light!
If a divine day of creation, taking place in the light, is 1000 years, than the evenings must also count as 1000 years. A period to allow everything to even out, evolve and grow/flourish. This would mean the six days of creation were 6000 years long. The evenings another 6000 years long.
Therefore, 12,000 years!
