Let’s Talk! Freeway Requiem. Recorded 11/6/2025

A few days before this was recorded, there was a pedestrian death by motor vehicle. A Black man was walking in traffic to get fuel for his stalled vehicle when he was hit by a White woman driving a car. There were very few other details relative to the case at the time I found info posted about it in social media. As of that point, the woman hadn’t been charged. One person had commented something to the effect of noting that the then-not-yet charged driver was white, but it appeared that the case would be closed.

I don’t drive, but I have regularly been a pedestrian, and I ride with others, and I have watched them experience some hair-raising things because of other travelers, whether drivers or pedestrian. There are things we do that can either increase or decrease the chances of the disaster suffered by this man, and they have nothing to do with race. This long-play rant is me talking about this accident from that perspective and sharing my thoughts. Share your thoughts, too, if you’d like! God bless!
