The Angel Encourages Daniel to be Strong
Daniel chapter 10 begins identifying Daniel who receives a message or vision from the Lord. It happens during the third year of Cyrus the king of Persia verse 1. Scripture tells us that the message is true and the time frame was long. Meaning that this prophecy no longer looks at the current time but future time. Verse 2 tells us that Daniel was in mourning based on the last vision he had about the destruction of Jerusalem. He was in mourning for three full weeks with no food. Verses 4-9 describe the place where Daniel was, by the great river Tigris. He looks up and sees an image of a great man clothed in linen and girded with a gold belt. In verse 6-9 Daniel describes his appearance as having a body of beryl, his face like lightening, his eyes like torches of fire, his feet and arms like burnished bronze in color with a voice like a multitude of people. Daniel had many people around him, but he was the only one who could see the man. The ones near him were afraid and ran to hide. Daniel professed to have no strength but he was listening to the words. Daniel was in a deep sleep lying on the ground face down. Verse 10 tells us that the man touched Daniel and made him tremble on his hands and knees. In verse 11 the man tells Daniel to understand the words that he speaks and to stand upright. Verse 12 tells us that God hears the words of Daniel through his fasting and prayer. In verse 13 the man tells of the battle he has been in with the prince of Persia and needs the archangel Michael to help. The man has come to make Daniel understand the dream in verse 14 stating that the things he sees will happen in the latter days and refers to “many days yet to come”. Verses 15-17 Daniel becomes speechless and weak once again. The man touches Daniel’s lips so he may speak. At that moment Daniel speaks and tells once again he has no strength to have a conversation. In verse 18-19 the man gives Daniel strength and tells him to have peace and be strong. Daniel receives the breath and the strength to continue with the conversation. Verse 20-21 concludes the message stating that the fight with the king of Persia will continue. When the man leaves the prince of Greece will come. The man discloses to Daniel what is in the Book of Truth.
Daniel had the unique opportunity to hear and see what God’s plan is for man in the time of Daniel and in the future or end times. Why? Because Daniel’s faith and his obedience to always seek the Lord in prayer and fasting. We know that Daniel was lamenting, praying and fasting for three weeks because of the previous dream resulting in the fate of Israel coupled with the very small return of the people to Israel. Daniel showed great remorse for the things he had heard and seen. We also know that God heard the prayers of Daniel and blessed him through answered prayer by showing him the future events that will take place. God rewarded Daniel for his faith and obedience by exposing him to the future. In turn we are blessed because we know that the Word of God never returns void.
When we are confronted or exposed to things in life that are out of our control we will have a myriad of emotions flowing in us just as Daniel did. Daniel certainly expressed his emotions and just how they affected his life. The same is true for our lives. We will be exposed to trials that we will have very little to no control over. It is in these trials that we should seek God and His scripture to guide us to the solutions for these trials. In short the bible tells us just how to navigate through our trials and tribulations. God gave us Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins so we may live in heaven with Him. As our walk with the Lord gets stronger and we seek Him for all things, His word and blessings will flow into us and through us. It is a blessing to be used by God for the purpose of glorifying God as we see in Daniel’s experiences. If we look back closely at our lives and reflect on the myriad of circumstances and life’s experiences we can see where God has been protecting us, blessing us and yes even disciplining us. In all of our life’s experiences, when we stay focused on God, He will create a path for a solution that leads us directly to heaven. God used and continues to use those who are willing to convey His message throughout history. Unfortunately some people do not tune in or just blatantly reject God’s word so they can continue to live their life the way they want to.
My prayer is that we wake up as a nation and a great awakening will take place across the globe. I pray that everyone would turn towards God for every circumstance and would truly trust in the Lord for every outcome. I pray we die to ourselves, let go and let God control the rest of our days. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray Amen! Amen!
