Bill O'Reilly, Maher Spar Over Democrat Rule

Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly and comedian Bill Maher engaged in a heated exchange Friday during the latter’s HBO show, “Real Time,” over the direction and viability of the modern Democratic Party.

The increasing shift within the Democratic Party toward socialist figures like Democratic New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani — who built his campaign on wealth redistribution, expansive government programs and class-based politics — reflects a broader ideological realignment within the party. O’Reilly and Maher sparred over the Democratic Party’s direction in the course of their conversation on the show.

“You’re disenchanted with the far-left wing of the Democratic Party because you believe that it’s poisoned the well for everybody else, like the congressman [Moskowitz] here,” O’Reilly told Maher.
