Released footage of a recent non-public trip by senior officials to Damascus shows Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and Foreign Minister Assad al—Shaibani - both of whom were founders of the al-Nusra Front under Al-Qaeda in Syria, which later became Hayat Tahrir al—Sham (HTS) - playing basketball with the commander United States Central Command (CENTCOM), Admiral Charles B. Syria is preparing to join the US-led global coalition against the Islamic State: today, US President Donald Trump will receive Sharaa for a historic meeting at the White House, the first ever with a Syrian head of state.
