What to do with old essential oils

Yes, essential oils have a shelf life (see previous video about this).

But if you have aging/old oils, do you just have to throw those out?

It is true these oils are not going to be beneficial for therapeutic use and may potentially even be harmful & irritating to your skin & mucous membranes.

However, here are a few ways that I use my older oils that are quite delightful:
🛁add a few drops (no more as they can be caustic) to stinky drains. I like to combine this with boiling water and baking soda to really clear things out.
🗑️add a few drops to the bottom of garbage cans to cut down on smells
🐁create an insect repellent by adding a fair amount of drops to some dried herbal material in small containers and put them in out of the way places you suspect rodents may be entering your home (or vehicle).

Cleaning? Be careful with this. Some essential oils can be great for cleaning, but you will be inhaling more of them this way. Also, some essential oils can break down plastics and also take stain colors out of wood, so proceed with caution.
