Is Unlimited PTO a scam and should companies be using these policies?

1. The short answer is no, but that this type of policy should not be used at most companies.
2. There is nothing wrong with the policy conceptually, its sound on paper, human nature ruins it.
3. Favoritism, current workloads, friendships, and nepotism often wrongly influence manager decision making.
4. This can create tremendous liability for companies on the form of favoritism complaints, lawsuits, and employee turnover, as including loss of client relationships when people leave.
5. Don’t do it. Create separate Vacation and Sick Policies and protect the company.
