Rejecting Compromise: Upholding Mary's Exalted Role

Today, we celebrate the feast of the dedication of the Church of St. John Lateran, the Pope’s Cathedral. The church, built on land donated by the Lotteroni family, is called the Mother Church of all churches in the West. Fr. Altier also discusses the use of the terms “co-redemptrix” and “mediatrix of all graces” for the Blessed Virgin Mary, emphasizing their theological context and rejecting the notion of confusion or misunderstanding.

This dedication of a church building serves as a reminder of our own baptismal dedication and our call to be temples of the Lord.
