Banishers, Ep12: The Governor’s Dread

Antea and Red return to Governor Haskell with the truth behind the Rotten Cobbler, only to watch the hunt fold inward toward the Governor’s own family. One name surfaces, brittle as old parchment: Lammy. The Governor speaks it reluctantly, as if the syllables might stain the air.

Rumors cling to Lammy like soot. In his spare hours he wanders beyond the Hamlet, collecting odd trinkets, muttering over worn scraps of parchment, tracing symbols that no settler claims to understand. Some call it curiosity. Others whisper of darker studies, the kind that invites the wrong sort of attention.

Following the trail, Antea and Red search for an abandoned house at the Hamlet’s edge, a place humming with the residue of Lammy’s private rituals. The clues nudge them toward the old mill, where the river wheels creak like something waking in its sleep.
