I just sat down to react to the clip Asmongold posted titled “This is going viral right now…” in which he highlights a portion of Elon Musk’s JRE interview about immigration. Elon makes it clear: legal immigration, fine. Illegal immigration without screening, assimilation or cultural integration—a big problem. In this reaction I’ll dig into what I agree with, what worries me, and why we need a balanced approach.

I agree with Elon’s framing: If someone is hardworking, honest, wants to integrate—legal immigration is beneficial. But when people enter illegally, without vetting, without plan for assimilation—you lose the framework that makes citizenship meaningful.

Elon and others warn that when millions arrive without integration, local culture, social cohesion, public infrastructure can become strained. It’s not xenophobia—it’s realism: every nation has limited resources, and assimilation helps avoid societal friction.

You can’t claim the benefits of a country—freedom, services, rights—without also embracing responsibilities: contributing, integrating, respecting shared values. Mass immigration without assimilation creates parallel societies—not unity.

Musk’s point about “hard-working and honest” immigrants is valid: entry shouldn’t reward law-breaking or bypass screening. Border control, legal pathways, assimilation programs matter. The alternative is chaos and fragmented society.
