Thanksgiving and Encouragement

In 2 Thessalonians 1, Paul opens with greetings and expressions of thanksgiving for the Thessalonians’ growing faith and love. He commends them for their perseverance and faith in the midst of persecution and trials. Paul speaks of God’s righteous judgment and the retribution that will come upon those who do not know God or obey the gospel. He also mentions how believers will be glorified in Christ and prays for the Thessalonians to be worthy of their calling.
