The Mystery of Admiral Byrd's Antarctic Base!

Admiral Richard Byrd led four American military expeditions to Antarctica: in 1928–1930, 1933–1935, 1939–1941, and 1946–1947. The last expedition, known as Operation Highjump, was the largest and took place in 1946–1947 under his command with the rank of rear admiral. The objectives were to train personnel, test equipment, survey areas for future stations, and expand scientific knowledge of the continent.
