In 2 Samuel 23:1-6, David's last words, there's a tone of sorrow but enduring hope in YAH's promises to David and Israel; this is particularly evident in 2 Samuel 23:5 "Although my house be not so with YAH; yet He has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all
my salvation, and all my desire, although He make it not to grow." But the day is coming when YAH WILL make His covenant with David and His covenant with Israel to grow and bear fruit.

Jeremiah 31:31-34 "Behold, the days come, says YAH, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which My covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, says YAH: but this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, says YAH, I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their Father, and they shall be My people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know YAH: for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, says YAH: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."

Jeremiah 32:37-42 "Behold, I (YAH) will gather them (the Israelites/black slave descendants) out of all countries, whither I have driven them in Mine anger, and in My fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely: and they shall be My people, and I will be their Father: and I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear Me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: and I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from Me. Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with My whole heart and with My whole soul. For thus says YAH; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them."

The nation of Israel, like David, must continue having enduring hope in YAH in spite of our present-day plight. Ezekiel 37:11-12 "...behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and OUR HOPE IS LOST: we are cut off for our parts. Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus says YAH ALMIGHTY; Behold, O My people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel." When the Second/Last Exodus of Israel finally comes as prophesied in Isaiah 11:11, Jeremiah 16:14-15, Jeremiah 31:8-9, Ezekiel 20:33-44, Deuteronomy 30:1-5, etc., then "David My servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in My judgments, and observe My statutes, and do them. And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and My servant David shall be their Prince for ever. Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their Father, and they shall be My people. And the heathen shall know that I YAH do sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore." (Ezekiel 37:24-28)
