Heavy rains affected various areas of Izabal Department, causing flooding and the overflow of several rivers. The rains were caused by a cold front entering the country. Flooding was reported in Santa Lucia Lachua in the municipality of Cobán, Alta Verapaz, where a road was completely blocked by water levels. The Guatemalan army evacuated several families affected by flooding in the municipality of Puerto Barrios. Several homes and local infrastructure were flooded.
