ANOTHER ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT TRUCK DRIVER Crashes, Killing Innocent Driver

A truck driver from Illinois has been hit with an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer after a deadly crash in Indiana, reinforcing concerns about immigration and public-safety enforcement at the border. The crash occurred near U.S. 20 in Portage, Indiana, when a semi driven by the 54-year-old Illinois man entered oncoming traffic while attempting to avoid a stopped van, jackknifed and fatally struck a Subaru. Investigators determined the driver, Broko Stankovic of Lyons, Illinois, lacked a valid commercial driver’s license and was operating the vehicle using a suspended CDL belonging to a family member. He now faces felony counts including criminal recklessness resulting in death and reckless homicide, charges that underscore the mounting risks of unlicensed drivers at the wheel. The ICE detainer was placed while he was being booked into the Porter County Jail, signaling federal attention to immigration status even as local authorities lead the collision investigation.
