Sean “Diddy” Combs didn’t take long to reconnect with a familiar face behind bars — former NBA player and fellow Brooklyn native Sebastian Telfair.

Both men are currently serving time at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal prison in New Jersey. Photos taken over the weekend show Diddy and Telfair chatting and laughing together in the prison yard. According to Telfair’s publicist, the ex-basketball star is seen in several of the images talking with the Bad Boy Records founder.

The two share deep New York City roots. Diddy remains one of the city’s most iconic music figures, while Telfair gained fame as a Brooklyn basketball prodigy who was drafted in the first round of the 2004 NBA Draft straight out of Abraham Lincoln High School. His rise was chronicled in books and documentaries, and he’s also the cousin of former Knicks star Stephon Marbury.

Diddy is currently serving a 50-month prison sentence and is expected to be released by May 2028. Telfair, on the other hand, has only about three months left to serve after entering prison in August for violating the terms of his supervised release in a healthcare fraud case.

Interestingly, both men are reportedly hoping for presidential pardons from Donald Trump. Before his own incarceration, Telfair publicly commented on Diddy’s legal troubles, telling VladTV that the viral video of Diddy assaulting Cassie looked like a domestic dispute and suggesting that women can provoke such incidents.
