12 year old boy has a crane driving lesson

We are increasingly living in a world where adults don't help children to achieve their dreams. There is also increasingly an age segregated divide in this country, where people don't want to be around people of different ages to themselves. I feel this is wrong. What this has led to is children not having people they can reach out to about things. For example, if a child wants to drive a crane most adults will say no, either due to perceived liability, or because they so desperately want to be seen to say the right thing. But this is not the right thing, as they know full well that the child will go and do it anyway. All they will have done is to have taken away the child's ability to reach out to people who can help them, meaning they have made the situation less safe. I find it disgusting that certain people can not see beyond giving a stereotypical response to children (often with autism) wanting to dedicate themselves to learning their favorite subject. Shaming children into giving up their ambitions is disgusting, but the children don't give up on their ambitions, they just say they have, but then continue to do the things they enjoy in secret, which is not a safe way of doing things. Think of the dangers of a child driving a crane alone and without the input of someone who can guide them. This is why I gave this child the opportunity to archive their dream of driving a crane, while being under my supervision.
