Ashamed of Your Money Mistakes? Ready to Reflect?

Have you ever looked back at your finances and asked yourself, “Why haven’t I grown more?” In this episode, I respond to a listener who feels stuck in their financial journey and is unsure how to reflect without getting discouraged. With 63 percent of Americans saying they feel behind on their financial goals, I share why reflection is not punishment but preparation. Drawing from insights by psychologist Brad Klontz, I’m launching a new series called The December Reset, where we take time to reflect, refocus, and prepare for the new year. I also share personal stories, biblical encouragement from Lamentations 3:40, and practical ways to look back with gratitude and grace so you can move forward with confidence.

Last week, in Episode 334 titled “Why Am I Still So Worried About Christmas?” I talked about how our holiday anxiety often has little to do with Christmas itself and more to do with our search for peace and control. In that episode, I encouraged you to trade performance for presence and perfectionism for peace. This week, we take that same sense of peace and apply it to our finances, discovering how reflection can open our eyes to God’s faithfulness in every season.
