Former youth pastor and coach Lindsey Whiteside, who initially avoided prison despite admitting to sexually abusing a minor, is now back behind bars after federal prosecutors charged her with transporting a 14-year-old across multiple states to commit sex crimes. Investigators uncovered tens of thousands of incriminating messages and letters showing months of grooming and abuse, and a judge revoked Whiteside’s bond after prosecutors argued she continued to pose a danger. As she awaits a federal trial, community members who once defended her have withdrawn their support, and the local district attorney is now seeking to have her lenient state sentence reconsidered.
