Prayer is the foundation for intimacy with the Father. We have learned that Yeshua provides all believers with The Master’s Prayer to give us a model for seeking His and our Father Yahweh.

Matthew 6 is the 2nd of 3 chapters containing his record on Yeshua’s Sermon on the Mount. This passage is one of the few chapters containing the record on Yeshua’s exhortations and encouragement of our Messiah.

The primary theme of Yeshua’s teaching is how much Yahweh the Father cares about the heart health of His people, not merely their outward actions. Thoughts and attitudes can be sin, just as much as words and actions.

Yeshua expands on this, pointing out that even our actions must be motivated by purity in order to be truly righteous. Putting on the appearance of holiness in order to earn the praise of others does not please Yahweh.
