It's getting colder out there as winter approaches and so I looked around for some handwarmers to take on my walks. This new set from Svintora seemed to fit the bill being not too large, pretty powerful and currently priced at less than £15, certainly not too dear.

In the attractive box are the two hand warmers together with a short double headed charging cable. Build quality seems fine. The hand warmers are made from ABS plastic but seem well made and built to last. There is nothing that looks likely to fail with them anytime soon.

Each 44 x 92 x 18 mm 7g handwarmer has two buttons on the top face with a small screen which displays the mode and battery level. On the front face is the USB-C power port.

Long press either button to turn the handwarmer off or on, double press either to show the current battery level. The left button, known as the Switch button, scrolls between the five heat level modes. The right button, the Quick Heat Button, when pressed, will instantly default to maximum power and heat to 58°C, press again to scroll through the five heating level modes.

The heating modes are:
34-37°C/95-104℉
38-42°C/105-109℉
43-47°C/110-116℉
48-51°C/117-123℉
52-55°C/124-130℉

On the front edge is the USB-C charging port. A full charge of the 3000mAh lithium polymer batteries should give between 8 and 20 hours of heat from each unit, depending on the heat level selected. The set is supplied with a dual plug charging cable, and charging both takes around four hours and a single unit just three hours. Just in case you are wondering, no, the hand warmers cannot be used while charging.

The heaters turn on very quickly compared to some others I have tried, and you should feel them heating significantly about three seconds after pressing the button.

These non magnetic hand warmers can be locked together. Just hold them back to back, and they should click in place together to make one large unit for maximum warming. Held separately, each compact sized device can be slipped inside a glove for ease of use. As hand warmers, they work better and feel more comfortable in the hand when paired together but work perfectly well when separated with one in each hand. The hand warmers are slimline, light in weight and fit nicely inside a glove if it is not too tight.

For the current discounted price of just £14.98 for the pair, I think this is a pretty decent buy.
