But his hunger ended today.

He never saw me. My blade whispered through the air and silence reclaimed him. But in my rush to vanish before anyone noticed, I faltered. His bodyguard—a sharp-eyed brute—caught a glimpse of my retreat and lunged. The clash was brutal and brief. He fell, just like his master. My lesson is learned: even a ghost must watch its shadow.
