Arizona’s Newest Democrat Claims ICE Agents Are “Masked Men” Taking Babies

Rep. Adelita Grijalva wasted no time turning her swearing-in ceremony into a hyper-partisan spectacle, using her very first speech on the House floor to launch one of the most extreme and dishonest attacks on federal law enforcement in recent memory. 

Instead of outlining a vision for Arizona’s 7th District or reassuring constituents who went 50 days without representation, Grijalva chose to smear ICE agents as “masked” kidnappers ripping babies from their parents.

Her remarks came moments after she took the oath of office, following a prolonged and unprecedented delay in her seating due to the Democrats' decision to shut down the government.
