Qualifications for Overseers and Deacons

In 1 Timothy 3, Paul outlines the qualifications for overseers (bishops) and deacons. For overseers, he lists qualities such as being above reproach, married only once, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, and not violent. For deacons, he lists qualifications like being worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. He also includes instructions for the conduct of wives.
